China has invested a lot of money into its education system with the goal of creating world-class universities with world-class facilities.  This goal has largely been met and China is home to a lot of good universities.

There used to a large difference between the largest urban universities and the smaller universities in the countryside. This difference is now a lot smaller and all universities can offer good educations. The following schools and Universities listed are among the best in China.

Top ranking China Universities

Tsinghua University

Tsinghua is a member of the C9 League, an alliance of nine elite Chinese universities. It is located in Beijing, the capital of Chine and has over 25,900 enrolled students.  The university aims to give its students both knowledge and integrity. They offer programs teaching a wide variety of different topics ranging from economics to engineering and medical science.  They offer a very good economics program for students who want to learn about technical analysis and market analytics.

Fudan University

Fudan University was established in 1905 as Fudan Public School. The university ranks as the 3rd best in the BRICS area and 7th in Asia. It merged with Shanghai Medical University in 2000 to become a stronger, more comprehensive institution and now educates around 28,900 students, of whom 3,000 are international students.

Peking University

Sun Yat-sen University

Originally founded in 1924 as National Canton University the university is also ranked 45th in Asia and is made up of five campuses in the Guangdong province in southern China, hosting 74,400 students.

Wuhan University

Founded in 1893 in Wuhan, the largest city in central China. Wuhan is known as one of the most beautiful universities in China. They have beautiful gardens, beautiful surroundings, and architectural well-designed buildings in western and Chinese styles.

Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT)

This university is categorized as a public research school. it is a top school for science and technology.  The school has a very good department for space exploration and the school ha designed and built satellites that they then have sent into space.

Harbin Institute of Technology is ranked as a top university in many disciplines.  They list among the top 150 in the world in various disciplines.

University of Science and Technology of China

University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Located in the city of Hefei, eastern China, it was established in 1958 to improve China’s economy, defense infrastructure, and science and technology education.

Nanjing University

Founded in 1902 as the Sanjiang Normal School, the university now has around 33,000 students in 28 schools, including more than 3,200 international students. Nanjing is known for its high-quality academic research and it is one of the most-cited universities in China.
